This is the report we care about most. Every calculator is built on formulas used in veterinary practice, but an input combination we did not anticipate can still produce an odd number.
Please include three things: which calculator, what you entered, and what it returned. Something like "the dog food portion calculator gave a daily amount that looks far too low for 4.2 kg, 3 years old, neutered" is enough for us to reproduce it.
If the formula itself turns out to be wrong, we fix the calculator and post a correction note on that page for anyone who used the earlier version.
Veterinary guidance changes as research and clinical practice move on. If you spot something inaccurate or out of date, please tell us.
Corrections from veterinarians and veterinary nurses go to the front of the queue. If you can point to the guideline or study behind the correction, that speeds things up considerably. Once verified we revise the text and update the "last reviewed" date at the bottom of the article.
Suggestions are always welcome, though we cannot build every one. Mongnyang Lab only publishes a calculator when the number can be produced from a defensible formula.
"How long will my dog live" varies so much between individuals that putting a number on it would mislead more than it helps. Daily energy requirement from body weight, age and neuter status, on the other hand, has an established formula and makes a good calculator. If your idea looks like the second kind, there is a good chance it gets built.
